Reclamation increases Klamath River flows to prevent disease and promote salmon health

News Release: KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Bureau of Reclamation, in coordination with PacifiCorp, will increase flows at Link River Dam and below Iron Gate Dam to reduce the risk of disease for salmon in the Klamath River. From April 19 through the end of the month, flows will vary on the Link and Klamath rivers.

Valles Caldera 2023 Turkey Hunt Season Begins

News Release: Jemez Springs, NM - The 2023 turkey hunt season begins today, April 15, and runs through April 30. Twenty tags were issued through the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish and each tag is good for 1 bearded turkey. The park is home to an estimated 400 Merriam turkeys.


Bureau of Land Management to conduct multiple-day prescribed burn

News Release: Kingman, Ariz. - The Bureau of Land Management Kingman Field Office will conduct a multiple-day prescribed burn on Goodwin Mesa, about 50 miles southeast of Kingman, pending appropriate weather and seasonal conditions, from May through September 2023. The Goodwin Mesa Prescribed Fire will cover approximately 3,000 acres of BLM land and will take two to three days to complete.
