News Release: Fort Oglethorpe, GA: A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 964,272 visitors to Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in 2022 spent $63,644,000 in communities near the park. That spending supported 905 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $81,396,000.

After 55 summers, Wind Cave ranger hangs up his hat

News Release: HOT SPRINGS, S.D. - Seasonal park ranger Don Frankfort is retiring after working 55 summers at Wind Cave National Park. He began his ranger career in 1967, and since then he estimates he led more than 100,000 people through the cave.

Bunker Hill Preservation Work Prepares Park for Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary

News Release: BOSTON - The National Parks of Boston is preparing for the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill, June 17, 2025, by continuing its $1.4 million preservation and restoration of the historic Bunker Hill Monument. The National Park Service anticipates substantial interest in 2025 and 2026 as people commemorate the Battle and other significant events leading up to and including the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the nation on July 4, 2026.

News Release: NEW ORLEANS - A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 270,000 visitors to Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve in 2022 spent $17.8 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 247 jobs in the local area. At New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park, 37,400 visitors spent $2.5 million in communities near the park and supported 34 local jobs.
