Comer Demands Biden Administration Cooperate with Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today is calling on senior officials in the Biden Administration to fully cooperate with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR). The Oversight Committee has obtained testimony from Inspector General John Sopko that the Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of the Treasury, and the U.S. Agency for International Development are obstructing SIGAR’s investigations.

Hyatt Lake Boat Ramp and Wildcat Campground Opening in June

Reservations for the 12 campsites in Wildcat Loop will be available on Recreation.gov starting on Monday, June 5 for $7 per night. The Mountain View Boat Ramp will open June 16. Currently these areas are closed for hazard tree mitigation.


BLM publishes Public Land Order for a 20-year withdrawal for Tongass National Forest’s Mendenhall Glacier

News Release: ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Bureau of Land Management published a Public Land Order today withdrawing lands around the receding Mendenhall Glacier near Juneau, Alaska. The order affects approximately 4,560 acres of National Forest System lands within the Tongass National Forest to provide protection for this popular recreation destination.
