Carl Sandburg Music Festival offered on Saturday, June 3

News Release: Flat Rock, N.C. - Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site will host the annual Carl Sandburg Music Festival on Saturday, June 3, 2023. This free festival offers live music performances between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the amphitheater and barnyard areas. Seating is available, and visitors are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Due to expected large crowds, pets will not be allowed at performances.


Cub Creek Petroglyphs Pullout #14

News Release: A quarter mile hike up from Cub Creek Road leads to a variety of panels along a sandstone cliff. Over 1,000 years ago, the ancestral indgenous people of the region came here to carve and create elaborate designs including the 5 foot long lizard petroglyphs.

National Park Service awards $21 million to help preserve African American civil rights history

Elk Creek Boat Ramp Opening

News Release: Gunnison, Colo. - The Elk Creek boat ramp on Blue Mesa Reservoir in Curecanti National Recreation Area opens Friday, May 26, 2023, at 5:30 a.m. It will remain open from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day for the remainder of the 2023 season. The Elk Creek marina is scheduled to open on May 30.

News Release: Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 11 am, Fort Scott National Historic Site and Marais des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge are presenting Jewel Endicott with the first-place award for her age group in the Kansas Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest for the 2nd year in a row. Her winning entry is titled "Cinnamon Teal Swimming" and was done in colored pencil. The awards presentation will be in the foyer on the upper level of the park’s Infantry Barracks, outside the theater.


BLM seeks public comment for Dingell Act – Emery County Land Exchange

Graves Creek Road Reopening After Bridge Repair Closure

News Release: Quinault, WA - Upon completion of the first stage of bridge repairs along Graves Creek Road, the area will reopen on May 26th. This includes Graves Creek Campground and the East Fork Quinault Trail to Enchanted Valley.
