Brooks River Permit Requirement for 2023

Katmai National Park & Preserve will implement a permit system to access the Brooks River Corridor (within the Brooks Camp Developed Area) between June 15 and October 31 for all activities, except redfish fishery subsistence activities.

Westerman Celebrates Historic Permitting Reform Wins

On May 31, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Responsibility Act, which included much of U.S. Rep. Garret Graves' (R-La.) Building U.S. Infrastructure through Limited Delays and Efficient Reviews (BUILDER) Act. Clifford Walters of Hawaii pleaded guilty to one count of feeding, touching, teasing, frightening, or intentionally disturbing wildlife on May 31, 2023 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephanie A. Hambrick.


USACE Memphis christens replacement, $25.5M bank grading unit "Grader 1"

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District officially launched its new, $25.5 million Bank Grading Unit (BGU), “Grader 1”, with a christening ceremony held on the afternoon of May 2 at a boat ramp located in downtown Memphis, Tennessee.


PUBLIC NOTICE: Village of Buckhorn Sanitary Sewer Relocation, Raw Water Intake, and Water Treatment Plant Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Louisville District has completed a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Village of Buckhorn Sanitary Sewer Relocation, Raw Water Intake, and Water Treatment Plant Project, located in Perry County, Kentucky. Authorization is through Section 531 Southern and Eastern Kentucky Environmental Infrastructure Program.


Public meetings scheduled for Lower San Joaquin River Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and the San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency have released a draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) and a draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR), respectively, for the Lower San Joaquin River Project, Reach 30L of Tenmile Slough (TS30L).

Improvement project closes boat launch at Chena project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District is closing the Moose Creek Landing recreational parking lot and boat ramp beginning June 15 while construction is underway to improve public access at the site.
