BLM issues fire restrictions to protect properties and residences north of Fairbanks

News Release: FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Today, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Fairbanks District issued a fire prevention order prohibiting campfires, fireworks and explosives on federal lands in a fire-prone area of black spruce near Fox, Alaska, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) facility site on the Steese Highway. The order goes into effect at midnight tonight and will last until October 31 or until the order is rescinded.
