Body of Missing 19-year-old Swimmer Jose Madera Martinez Recovered from Delaware River

News Release: BUSHKILL, Pa- The body of Jose Madera Martinez, 19, of Paterson, New Jersey, was recovered at around 11:15 am today from the waters of the Delaware River near Kittatinny Point within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area by National Park Service search crews. Today marks the third full day of the search.

Change in Leadership at Virgin Islands National Park

News Release: ST. JOHN, U.S. Virgin Islands - The National Park Service (NPS) announces Scott B. Simmons will serve as Acting Superintendent of Virgin Islands National Park and Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument beginning July 30, 2023. Nigel A. Rainbow Fire is Called Out

News Release: The Rainbow Fire is now out following a strong initial attack and continued work by North Cascades, Missoula, and Redmond smokejumpers. Helicopter and Fire Boss plane support included approximately 105,000 gallons of water over two days. The Boulder Creek Trail and Hooter, Rennie, and Reynolds Hiker and Stock camps are now open.
