Lt. Col. Shebesta Assumes Command of the San Francisco District

Leadership of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District changed hands June 23 when Lt. Col. Timothy W. Shebesta was sworn in as the district's 58th commander.


Pine Flat Dam spillway expected to release water within days

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers expects to use the gated service spillway at Pine Flat Dam within the next seven days as temperatures rise along the Sierra Nevada, increasing snowmelt runoff that flows to the reservoir.

Interior Department Announces Behavioral Health and Wellness Program for Tribal Schools

The Department of the Interior today announced the Bureau of Indian Education awarded an additional five-year contract to increase access for behavioral health and wellness support to all students and staff at Bureau-funded schools and programs. Initially designed to increase access to services during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program provides virtual counseling and on-site crisis services.
