BLM initiates environmental analysis of the Vulcan Solar Energy Project

News Release: PHOENIX - The Bureau of Land Management is announcing the beginning of a 30-day public scoping period to inform the environmental analysis of the proposed Vulcan Solar Project, which would produce up to 1,050 megawatts of utility-scale renewable energy from solar photovoltaic modules on 7,374 acres of public land in western Maricopa County.


FONSI Released on Environmental Assessment for Backcountry Camp Modifications in North Cascades National Park

News Release: Sedro Woolley, WA- The Environmental Analysis (EA) process for the Backcountry Camp Modifications in North Cascades National Park Service Complex has been completed and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) has been issued. The FONSI provides documentation on the decision to implement a modified version of Alternative I from the EA as well as a finding that no significant adverse impacts will occur from implementation in the two project areas.

Reclamation releases Yakima basin July water supply forecast

News Release: YAKIMA, Wash. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s July 2023 water supply forecast for the Yakima basin indicates the water supply would provide senior water rights 100% of entitlements and junior water rights 72% of entitlements for the June-September total available water supply.

BLM releases proposed Eastern Colorado Resource Management Plan

News Release: CAÑON CITY, Colo. - The Bureau of Land Management is releasing a proposed updated resource management plan to guide management decisions for approximately 658,200 surface acres and 3.3 million acres of mineral estate in eastern Colorado. The agency’s Eastern Colorado Resource Management Plan (ECRMP) strikes a balance between multiple land-use priorities and is designed to replace two separate and outdated management plans from the 1980s and 1990s.


National Park Service selects Point Reyes Lodging Corporation to operate visitor services at Point Reyes National Seashore Hostel

News Release: POINT REYES STATION, Calif. - The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Point Reyes Lodging Corporation to operate visitor services in Point Reyes National Seashore under a 10-year concession contract. The existing hostel lodging and other visitor services at Point Reyes Hostel will transition to the new concessioner on Oct. 17, 2023.

Advisory Commission to Meet July 12, 2023
