New Operating Hours and September and October 2023 Calendar
News Release: NICHOLASVILLE, KY - The National Park Service (NPS) is excited to announce the new operating hours and the September Calendar at Camp Nelson National Monument. The park’s Visitor Center and Museum will be open 5-days a week (Wednesday-Sunday) after Labor Day (September 4, 2023). The building will be open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Guided tours will be offered on Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, and when staffing allows. The grounds remain open sunrise to sunset.

Passenger ferry service concessioner selected for Statue of Liberty National Monument & Ellis Island
News Release: Liberty and Ellis Islands, N.Y./N.J. - The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Statue City Cruises to provide passenger ferry service from the Battery, New York City and Liberty State Park, Jersey City to Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. Statue City Cruises has held the current concession contract since 2008. The new contract has a ten-year term and will begin on March 1, 2024.

Congaree National Park Closing Ahead of Hurricane Idalia
News Release: HOPKINS, SC -Staff at Congaree National Park are currently preparing for the expected impacts of Hurricane Idalia. Currently located in the Gulf of Mexico north of Cuba, the current forecast is calling for the storm to strengthen into a major Category 3 hurricane before making landfall along the Florida Gulf Coast.
