Heavy snowpack increases safety concerns for BLM Uncompahgre recreational users

Creeks on the east side of the Uncompahgre Plateau are the most likely to experience high flows. News Release: LAS VEGAS - As part of the Biden-Harris administration’s goal to permit 25 gigawatts of renewable energy on public lands by 2025 and achieve a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035, the Bureau of Land Management today announced it is auctioning four parcels totaling 23,675 acres for utility-scale solar energy development in the Amargosa Desert in Nye County, Nevada. The parcels, if fully developed, have the potential to produce nearly three gigawatts of renewable energy.

Potholes Coulee

News Release: Potholes Coulee is very similar to Dry Falls cataract located in Lower Grand Coulee, in that it consists of two arcuate alcoves separated by a relatively thin “rock blade". Similar plunge pools (now filled with lakes) are also located at the base of the two alcoves in Potholes Coulee.
